Career Summary

Adesoji Abimbola has over thirty years of work experience as a teacher, researcher and mentor. I have conducted vastly relevant socio-political scientific research and extensively published theoretical and empirical work on Traditional and Contemporary Yoruba History and Socio-Political History of Nigeria.

Professional Experience

  • Professor (Sabbatical), Bowen University, Iwo, 2022-2023 – I worked as a professor at the History and International Studies Programme.
  • Lecturer (Visiting), Osun State University, Ikire, 2014-2015 – I worked as a senior lecturer at the History Department.
  • Lecturer, Obafemi Awolowo University 2001-Date – I commenced work at the History Department as a Graduate Assistant in 2001, and attained my professorship in the same department in 2015.
  • Lecturer (Part time), Lagos State University, Ojo 2000-2003 – I served as a lecturer at the History Department (Ilesa Study Centre).
  • Lecturer, Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, 1994-2001 – I worked as an Assistant Lecturer, lecturer III and lecturer II in the History Department.
